Practice Philosophy

The practice was established in 1980. Our aim is to offer the best dental care to adults and children under private contract.

We are a preventive practice. When a dentist asks about a patient's diet or oral hygiene habits, it is not to blame or criticise; the aim is to identify potential problems and give the best advice to remedy or prevent these issues. Our objective is to maintain good dental health, function and appearance for every patient using a minimum of intervention.

So that the highest practice standards are maintained, all our staff complete regular training courses. We are constantly introducing improvements and innovations in techniques and materials. We are "mercury free" meaning we haven't used amalgam (silver fillings containing mercury) since 1994.

The two dental diseases; tooth decay and gum disease are avoidable. No-one needs to suffer tooth decay and our dentists advice will help you to prevent it . Although more complex, with the right support and advice gum disease is preventable, and a structured course of treatments to reduce or manage gum problems is available.

The success of the treatment we offer is proportional to the strength of the relationship we can build with you. We hope to build this relationship by consulting with you at every step of the way.

Your treatment will be guided by your wishes and no work will be undertaken without a full explanation, including cost and consequences, or without your informed consent. When treatment is needed which is beyond the scope of the practice, we make orthodontic referrals to specialist orthodontists only and other referrals only to dentists who are on the Specialist Register.

Patients are free to choose between paying fees for treatment or joining an appropriate Denplan scheme.

The Denplan system works extremely well, it allows us to provide you with the best in preventive care at a reasonable cost. You can be confident that we offer you the best quality of care, as demonstrated by our Denplan Excel Accredited status.This means that Denplan complete a rigorous annual check of administrative and clinical excellence. The practice has maintained its Excel Accreditation since 2002. We are one of the very few Excel Accredited Practices in King's Lynn and West Norfolk.

Private fees and the Denplan contributions are set by the practice according to guidelines published by the The Dental Professionals Association.
