Happy Halloween!!

halloween-sweetsWith Halloween tomorrow and all of the sugary treats on offer it’s important to remember to take care of your children’s teeth.

We’ve put together a few tips you can follow over Halloween to help take the best care of your children’s teeth without missing out on all the fun…
• Give tooth-friendly Halloween treats such as sugar-free gum and xylitol sweets
• Swap sugary treats for glow sticks, cuddly toys or fancy dress items
• Brush teeth twice a day for two minutes each time with a fluoride toothpaste, and remember to supervise children’s brushing if they’re under seven years of age
• Enjoy sweets at mealtimes, rather than nibbling throughout the day
• When you’ve finished a meal, eat a small piece of cheese – it will help to neutralise the acids that cause tooth decay

Reducing your sugar intake won’t just benefit your oral health, but can also improve your general well-being. Just remember to keep everything in moderation and stick to a good oral health care routine.

Wishing you a Happy Halloween from the Prior-eerie Dental Scare team! ……Mwah-hah-hah!!!!
